Nothing beats the March '81 NY show of this song; towards the end where he says, "Why you wanna treat me so bad...Bitch!" That's rock 'n roll.

I remember the R&B stations playing it to death back in the day. Only someone like Prince could get away with such airplay on R&B stations with a hard rock jam. The boy was definately bad. Andy is a four letter word.

This song got me interested in Rock back in the day. The solo is still one of fav and I think one the most inspiring solos of all time.

Out here in So. Cal., they played it a little bit. But yeah, P was the only cat that could have done that at that time. I remember diggiing "I Wanna Be Your Lover", then I saw the album cover and thought P was trying to look like one of the cats from the group Switch. Anyway, when I heard "Why You Wanna" and then "Bambi", I was hooked. Even as a kid, because of those two songs, THAT'S what sold me on Prince. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I always dug how Prince would end this song live, and then play the music for "I Feel For You" with a wild guitar solo over it. Totally unreal.lol..Prince could have put out one hell of a rock LP back then if he wanted to.

This is a great song. One of my favorites from the "Prince" album. In fact the first 3 songs are all home runs to me. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I'll gladly admit that this is the song that planted the seed in my head and made me into a total P fan, the ripping guitar rifts at the alpha and omega of the track was my initiation. Jeux Sans Frontiers
