I don't know why but I am playing alot of Parade and ATWIAD latley!! I am really liking it! And I love the funk, dancable Prince the best so this is odd to me! My favorites are Life can be so nice, Christopher Tracey's Parade, New Position, ATWIAD, Paisley Park, and Temptation!!! The songs are so werid they are really starting to grow on me!! Honestly I used to really hate these albums!

If this says anything to me it says PRINCE YOU KNOW BETTER THAN ALL OF US!! Ignore the bitching follow what your heart tells you!!!

I prefer Parade to ATWIAD

Even though I prefer Prince's harder work before these albums, I did warm up to "Around The World In A Day" within a few months of its release and began to love the entire album. I still would have rather had something harder though, like the previous albums.

"Parade" is a whole different story though. I can play it to this day and sections of it bore the living hell out of me.

ATWIAD is the first LP I ever bought and I loved that record. I used to call up girls and play "Condition Of The Heart," You know, the "...thinking about u drivin' me crazy, ooohhh" part. I'm sure I looked like a schmuck.
Parade sounds as good today as in '86 to me.

Have you been kind of (musically) precocious or did you get your first record player pretty late?
