Question about the Controversy record

I just bought a used copy of it and I was wondering it it comes with an insert of any kind. My copy just had the record in a plain white paper sleeve. Thanks!

A poster? Well, that explains why it's not there razz I'll have to find myself a new copy, then. Does Prince typically give posters with his records? I bought a new copy of Purple Rain and it had one. My used copy of 1999 didn't, but it had the two inserts. I'd kill for a poster of the 1999 insert of the entire band. They look awesome ^_^.

No. Those are the only two I know of. "For You" has a nice sleeve with him sitting on a bed naked holding a big guitar. "Rainbow Children" has a really big version of the cd booklet. "Graffiti Bridge" has a nice sleeve, as does the "Prince" lp.

I know For You hasn't had that picture sleeve since 1984 when I bought mine, because mine didn't come with that pic -- it had an old-styled Warner Bros. generic sleeve instead. Sign O' The Times came with a postcard.

Yea, I got that one too and it's stupid WB left the "Sleeve Design by Prince" credit on the album cover.

Mine says "Promational Copy Not For Sale." I bought it off Ebay a few years back. Do you think this hurts the value of the record? Not that I really care, though.

No, just the sleeve (and an extra white sleeve?), but the record is on the old WB label with the palm trees, but I assume the first pressings were all like that.

Sweet, thanks for the info, guys! This will be most helpful for when I'm out scavenging the record bins ^_^.
