If Prince is bi-racial?

Ok you know how on Tavis Smiley he showed him that clip of the Barbershop 2 and they were like "Prince is half Cherokee" and they laughted about it? Then Prince was like there is dispute over who his grandfather was on his mother's side? But how in the eighties they kept saying they thought he was part Itallian? Well which one would you be more likely thinking which blood he is carring? Cherokee or Itallian?

On one hand I had an ex-boyfriend who reminded me SO much of Prince and he was half indian so I kinda get that feeling when I look at Prince.

Then again you know how around the GB days Prince REALLY resembled Al Pacino (well in my eyes) and he is Sicialian.

Hmmmm...it just makes you wonder. I am curious! biggrin

REAL ANSWER

Prince is of African-American descent. Like myself and just about every other African-American I know, he more than likely had at least one Native American and/or Caucassion anscestor dating far back.

ANSWER MOST PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR

Prince has the exact same racial background as the person reading this! Amazing, huh?

I really don't see how my question is offensive...if you are saying most African Americans have some racial mixing in their blood...why would this thread be locked if I just ask what blood he is carrying that is not of African decent? I'm in no way saying that Prince isn't a black man...he is black! But even he thinks he is mixed with something...I'm just curious what that something might be. Honestly I am not trying to offened anybody..I was just wondering!

I think all of us Americans, regardless of race, have been mixed with something down the line in the past generations.

Krystal my dear,I know you don't care about raceand were just being curious, but there are some people that NEED Prince to have the same racial background as them.I was just pointing that out. There's nothing wrong with your question but you know it's gonna be locked. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I read the title and gave an answer. I never said it was a bad or stupid question. I just got to the point.I'm not saying it should be locked but I'm sure it will be locked.

Why would it be locked? Because people refuse to be mature adults discussing a race related question and get all bent out of shape about it and read more into the topic than necessary???

I swear sometimes I think I am dealing with eleven year olds on this site!

I'll say it again, I'm not saying it should be locked I'm saying that more than likely it will. Most every thread that has to do about Prince's racial background or his sexuality gets locked. That's not my doing. I have no control over that. I already apologised for the misunderstanding but you decided to respond the way you did. That's a bit strange to me but I guess I'm only eleven anyways.

Thank you!
My maiden name is Mcgee. Somewhere in my ancestory, there is white, probably Irish, probably a slave master named Mcgee neutral
And on my mom's side, there is Blackfoot Indian.
But I look typical African american. And not to deny the other side of cultures, but if you look black, you better be prepared to live black because unless you are going to walk around wearing a t-shirt that says, I am 37% black, 18% french, 22 % native american etc, you are going to be recognized as black. end of story.
Halle Berry identifies herself as a black woman because as she put it, that is what she sees when she looks in the mirror. That is how I am guiding my daughter who is 50-50. She looks like a light skinned black girl, and that is how people perceive her, so she needs to be prepared.

Oh and I forgot to answer YOUR question. I would say P is mixed with a bunch of stuff. His mother looked Creole (new orleans) to me which I beleive is french, indian, black and spaniard.

Hmmm intersting...my best friend is half black and half white and I have had many mixed girlfriends...myself being half white and half latina( while it is not the same thing) feel a special understanding with them...anyway we have had many conversations of how being bi-racial is kinda turning into an idenity all by itself! biggrin
