when I first heard cd 1 this was the one song that stood out from the rest

i always thought this was an average song.guess people love the sentiment(wendy,lisa).....if it had been about some other band memebers nobody would care id say

Great song, bad production. This was made for prince of the 80's to record. So much of that emancipation album caused the actual great songs on there to get lost in the mediocrity. People will defend that album for whatever reason, and im sure its something, post-WB, that prince needed to get out of his system, but there's no denying so much of that album is below par.....oh and badly produced as well.

The end of this song is SO funky. Prince does this quite a bit. He ends with an instrumental piece that is completely different from the rest of the song, and it makes you wish there was a whole song with that funk.
