Exodus Has he ever done anything remotely like "The Exodus Has Begun"? That one's totally out there. I wonder if he will ever get back to such a raw sound. I would certainly welcome it!
BTW, just in case any poor Prince fan soul haven't found this album yet... http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBa...%3AIT&rd=1

I would say that "The War" is the closest thing to "The Exodus Has Begun." Although, I think that "The War" is better.

Yep, also touches similar topics. Both are pretty interesting.

"The Exodus" has begun sounds like a mash-up between "Bob George" and "The Last December" to me. So I guess the whole TRC album is the closest thing to that track we've gotten since.
In a way I almost hope the pitched-down voice would have been left out. He could have carried the whole song with some type of a melody that can be heard in the sung double parts of the verses. But it's fine as it is, and profoundly weird. I'm not sure about the clap sound though, but that's a minor gripe.

"The Last December"? That you will have to explain to me.

Just the overt progness (attempted complexity) of it combined with the choir. All kinds of breaks and little false-endings, zany sections, an overblown multitracked production style.
