I have a question about the HBO special? I read an interview where HBO wanted P to do a concert and the reason P refused is because HBO has a rule (or it was in his contract that they offered) that if you do a special for them you are not aloud to perform on anyother network for 1 year. Well.....we haven't seen him for a year - why didn't he do the special. I'm just wondering if anyone heard anything?

I vaguely remember reading something about an HBO special. I not 4 certain but I think it had 2 do more with contract issues. I think HBO retains some sort of ownership or something 2 that effect. Whatever it was HBO would've been more involved than just airing the special.

Don't think so. In one of his interveiws last year (Rolling Stone?) it began with Showtime cable execs leaving his dressing room with a frustrated look on their faces.

If you recall, the Rolling Stones did a live special from Madison Sqaure Garden in January 2003. Later taht year, they released a version of that concert on their own exclusive DVD Box set "Live licks". So HBO doesn't always keep all rights. Obviously, it is negotiable. Prince is missing out on a huge market here. I'm sure a "Musicology" Tour DVD would do quite well, but it's been awhile since the tour . He should have struck when the moment was hot #SOCIETYDEFINESU

Since both HBO and Showtime's parent company is Time Warner AOL, I doubt that we will see P on either network any time soon. "Are you my Caucasian?" - L.D.
