Prince and YAZ?

I was listening to Upstairs At Eric's on the subway this morning.

Can't recall the album cut's title, but the Lord's Prayer (Our Father...) is heard, in a deep electronic voice, over Allison Moyets vocals. Just like in Prince's song Controversy.

Did Prince ever work with YAZ (Vince Clarke)? Or is this another case of New Order vs. The Cure (Blue Monday vs. The Walk).

As far as I'm aware Prince never worked with Yazoo, but I'll have to check and get back to you.

Yaz? #8 hmm..

I think Prince is more of a Jim Rice or Kirby Puckett fan
Instead of a Carl Yastrzemski or Ted Williams fan.

But he played many times in his career "behind" Boston's green monstor at Fenway. 81, 86, 88 !

(someone pullease put Rice in the Hall of Fame)

Yeh thats the one.

But, why do you all keep calling them Yaz? Did they have a different name in the US?

Here in the states they were called YAZ. RE: Cure vs. New Order...play Blue Monday and The Walk back to back...the music is virtually the same. A friend of mine that was a New Order fanatic back in the day explained that somehow the two almost collaborated...parted ways with the music and did their own thing with the product because they couldn't see eye to eye or something like that.
