I think I read in The Vault book how one of the original ideas was for Prince to play two roles and it would be revealed at the end that it was actually the same person who had multiple personalities - kind of like "Fight Club" or "Psycho"!

That wasn't GB either, that was the Camille movie idea (which preceeds GB).

Actually that would have been a VERY cool movie from what little we know about the idea.

The original Graffiti Bridge concerned Camille (Prince) and his relationship with a 'Ruthie Washington' (at point, Prince wanted Madonna in that role) and featured Prince's band at the time, Cat, Sheila etc. This was the follow-up project to Sign O' The Times, but as we know, the side-project of The Black Album/The Funk Bible was halted, which led Prince to record and tour with Lovesexy, further halting GB, then along came the proposition of a Batman soundtrack, which Prince took up, again delaying Graffiti Bridge.

Uptown magazine printed one of the early scripts to the 'Graffiti Bridge' movie (I think it was dated September 1987).It was absolutely horrible, even worse than the completed film!

lol - Definately! The original script was even more koo-koo that the end product!

Thanks Metro..But I do recall hearing on the radio (and this was March 1985) that the sequel to Puple Rain was going to be called "The Dawn". Back then the media loved Prince and would say anything to get the story "first". But later that year, talk was already going around that P was filming a "French black and white film"..so any hopes of "The Dawn" was pretty much forgot about...but thanks for your info. That's what this board is about smile
