I am just brainstorming a bit about the reports that Prince visited Panama to record a video for a new song and did het met up with a panamese percussionsist who might be recording a few sings with him....

I know, i know, its maybe way too early to base conclusions on, but who do you think:

- This news (combined with certain reports about japanese styled afterparties, wearing kimono's, and '3121' in oriental letters) hints to the new prince record being a hybrid of worldmusic and his own rock/funk sound???
If thats the's case:

- Or does it mean we can expect a sound like can be heard on 'Damned if i do' and 'The everlasting Now', mixing pop, rock and fuck with latin-american music???
In this case, it could be nice, at least if sounds a a bit 'raw' and, i hope, not too 'flashy' / 'las vegas' as his recent live-sound:

- Or can we expect more long, boring, instrumental jazzfunk (with some extra percussion thrown in) like on NEWS???

He's gone to Panama to shoot a video with a local beauty - I'm guessing that they wanted some sort of tropical type location they couldn't get in the USA. Anyone wanna take bets it's some slushy romantic ballad?

The video is surely for a song from his new album - 'Satisfied' would be a probable candidate. The album is probably already completed, the recording with local musicians in Panama could be just Prince taking the opportunity to combine the two and not directly music related to the new album.

Of course, Prince could still add new tracks right upto the release date - but if he's thrashing about looking for new inspiration, it would be slightly worrying, as it would indicate he didn't have a firm direction for the new album.

Another Music video that I won't see on televison, I will have to go online to see. I hope it is nowhere like "cinnamon girl" I like the song,but not the video. So this I hope this new one he's making is good and not distrubing like "cinnamon girl".
