Waterinyourbath, Prince is of mixed origin too.....whats the deal?

I know that....I'm mixed too. We all are. Every Black person U meet is mixed with something majority of the time. My point is, all the women he has dated have had that same look, which is Caucasian or like the woman this thread is about. Prince may be mixed, but like myself and many other African Americans, he "looks" like and is a Black man, just light skinned. He has African American features and no one can confuse him as being anything else but Black, unlike his women. His parents were Black people. We could go into the details of how his mother was half Italian and all that, but she was still African American regardless and so was his father.

I'm not just talking about skin color either. When I say Black, I mean ethnicity. Susan Moonsie was very dark, yes, but she is obviously not an African American.

I'm not trying to be argumentive or offensive, just stating my opinion, that's all. In my eyes, it just seems like he just isn't attracted to Black women in general, which is a shame to me. It's like, we're not beautiful or unique enough for him. But like y'all said, he has his preference. I guess when one of my aunts said, "Why do U like Prince so much? He doesn't like Black women. The moment U'd walk up to him, he'd look at U like U're crazy and keep walkin' and go find 'somethin' else' to talk to," she triggered my reasons for writing these posts. neutral

give me natural quirky beauty any day...jill scott, ms. badu, naomi campbell, lisa bonet are all unique and true beauties...

Hmmm, I can understand your disapointment but you have to think maybe one of the reasons Prince is not that much into black women is because alot of black women demand respect, have high self esteem and are very strong women. I have noticed alot of white women shit on themselves, put themselves down are constantly looking for reasurement and a man to make them feel self worth. The black women I have met rarley do this. Maybe the reason Prince does not like the majority of black women he encounters has nothing to do with physicality but is deeper than that. Prince seems to like women who look up to him, need him and do what he says. It seems like he likes to play father alot. Maybe white/hispanic women are just more willing to let him play the "dad" and control the relationship? I don't know it is just another way to look at it. biggrin

My point exactly. All those women are "mixed" sure, but do not look like Black women at all. None of them have any obvious African American features. I love Prince with all my heart, but no matter how I can dream of being his wife, in reality I have absoutely no chance. He's a Brotha, and don't even like the Sistas, which is very sad to me.

And how could he have been with Mel B.? He was married to Mayte when she did that interview with him.

-----
Susan from Vanity Six was dark and we don't really know all the woman he has been with. It does not matter if these woman are light we are all sisters.

Krystal666, i think youre making a big generalisation with your comment about black women (and thats an understatement from me).

Being a strong, independent woman in the end has nothing to do with skin colour but with respectiving, loving yourselves and others.

VidA is waay too fine for her own good. I love her!!!

As for Prince and his dating choices this is how I see it. I'm a black man and I absolutley love black women in all shades. But When its all said and done I just like women period. And alot of the time (and this is just my own personal experience) black women (my complexion and darker; I'd say I'm about the complexion of Morris Chesnut; darker brown but not nearly Wesley Snipes LOL) would think I was cute or whatever am I'd try to holla at them, but they seemed (sometimes) would always say something like I look like I only like mixed girl or light girls or spanish girls or ect without even really knowing me. It started when I ws fourteen and I had this "girlfriend" that was phillpino and french. She was just wayy to hott for me to care what anyone said. That wasnt nescessarily true but what was true was that a lot of times these knds of girls would be attracted to me and I started to get a track record (High school and College) of dating what some people even called "Prince girls" (exotic mixes) which was funny to me since I ma such a prince fan. And my last 3 girlfriends have been some exotic mix (weather half Black and something else or something totally different. But like Prince I just like pretty girls. I'd talk to Mayte just as fast as I'd talk to Trya banks.

nod Just like you I think Prince fans mistake Prince for only liking exotic "Prince" type girls. While it is obvious that Prince appreciates the dark exotic look he just likes pretty girls. Black girls, blonds, mixed girls, asian women...his girlfriends have been all different types...alot have been exotic looking but maybe he just liked them as people, not necessairly just their looks. I don't think a woman being black or blonde should make them feel like they have less of a chance with Prince just as long as they are sexy...and obediant! Heh Heh I made a funny. biggrin
