The Hits/The B-Sides is now number 8 on the Danish top 40 album chart after 10 weeks on the list. It peaked at number 5.

The resurgence of interest in the 1993 triple release is caused by an advertising campaign on Danish television.

Warners and Prince must be happy as the triple CD The Hits/The B-Sides is bound to cause them greater profit than the single CD The Very Best of Prince would have.

Dunno why they suddenly decided to do an advertising campaign. Maybe they needed some quick cash, looked around at what they had and said "oh, what about this one? It's three Cd's. We'll earn triple!"

Similarly, in 1999 an advertising campaign was run on TV for the 1991 Eurythmics Greatest Hit, also resulting in that collection charting once more. One cannot underestimate the power of advertising.
