1999: The New Master to be Re-Released?

http://www.sonymusicstore...kuId=83929

I saw 1999: The New Master listed at the Sony Music Store. First New Power Soul, and now this. So did Prince wake up and decide to authorize re-releases of his weakest material? What next, a re-release of the TC Ellis CD from the Paisley Park days?

NPGS, 1999:TNM and TRC are all being re-issued.

It's just Prince trying to shift some of his independent releases, nothing done with them, no remastering or anything like that. Just off-loading some of those cobweb-filled crates up at PP into the stores in the hope that he'll shift a few copies to the post-Musicology crowd.

People don't actually listen to 1999 anymore, do they? I retired that song on the appropriate day.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I'll happily listen to the original...but not so happily to that "new master" re-recorded version disbelief

Where are the remasters of his albums, at least the best and/or most popular ones (not naming any names here, but I would be thinking primarily of SOTT)? pout Good heavens, even the Cocteau Twins catalog has been remastered!
