i was trying to think of what my favorite prince cover might be, and i really don't think i have one. the closest would be 'nothing compares to you' by sinead, but i think of that as more of a song that used to be a prince song, then prince sold its soul to sinead, and now, for better or worse, it's now more her song than his - in the public consciousness, anyway. i know he's tried to steal it back as a live song, and he does a great job with it, but i consider it more hers than his. technically, of course, it's a prince cover. so there, in a longwinded fashion, is my favorite prince cover. | |

Darren Hayes of Savage Garden fame does a great piano & voice version of "I Wish You Heaven." That's actually what got me liking Prince's version so much, crazy as it sounds! | |
