Not releasing "High" good or bad idea? Probably been discussed to death, but...
After Rave Un2 The Joy....was it a good idea to shelve the High album and go to work on Rainbow Children? I think what ended up as "Chocolate Invasion" is great and also some good stuff on "Slaughterhouse." I think it would have done pretty well commercially. I just would like to get a nice pressed album 'cause I'm getting a little tired of all these cd-r's and making my own booklets and jackets. [Edited 5/5/05 15:38pm] | |

great...it would possibly be his worst album ever, together with New Power Soul.
I will always remember the 97-2000 era as a period of time where Prince was ´tired´. Coincidence or not, those were the KJ days too. I am glad that he seems to have that pleasure of making music again. |

High, with the track list :
High My medallion Vavoom Golden parachute When will we B paid Gamillah Supercute Underneath the cream Daisy chain Silicon U make my sun shine when :eye: lay my hands on U Is an amazing album, i have this on Cd(from a friend) and it should have been released, i prefer this over "rave" tho i still have love 4 "rave". Great idea.

I believe that there's no known official tracklist for the High album/concept. No one could know how good or bad the record would have been... 'cept for Squig. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

High itself is a great radio track. With the right video it would have been a decent hit. The rest has a nice tough, confident sound. Much better than NPS or Rave.
Not a huge hit but a better comeback album than Musicology. | |

Not a huge hit but a better comeback album than Musicology. No. Way. "High" would've been an embarassment. "Prince gonna get you high" is about as cool as Snow singing "Informer." Musciology wasn't a hit in the old-fashioned chart kinda way, but it served his purpose and nothing on it was as god-awful bad as "High" (or as good as "When I Lay My Hands" for that matter) | |
