Prince and women

Ok we all know Prince is married now..yada yada...but I am talking about the old Prince here...does Prince seem like the type of man who would have respected a woman more for not sleeping with him when he put the moves on her? And go crazy trying to chase her...or would he be like omg no one turns Prince down?? Get out of here b****???

What could you see him being like more?? biggrin

Prince would write a song, give it 2 several girls and tell them he wrote it for them and them alone and see how many would then give it up.

cool Prince too me seems like the playa type. A smooth talker who knows what to say & how to make a women like him even though they may not go for him at first. He sets a goal & romances her until she gives in.

Yes, he would respect her more ( e.g. Mayte, or so she said... hmmm ), but surely not enough to keep him from gettting his elsewhere... or ain't that what we're hoping for... U know it girl! dancing jig

Chargating of course, but:

- Vanity and Appolonia where 'dolls' trying to make it to the top
- Kim Bassinger was probably more intrigued by Prince, then that she really loved him
- Mayte was 16 when her eye fell on Prince, a child still, when she was finally 18 Prince could give her the persona he wanted.... an egyptian princess, but underneath the mythification, a sex doll still...
- Manni, an obsessive prince fam, submissive again.....but, maybe because of her Prince decided to not longer be a cultfigure, and make big bucks again, showing his face and snakehips on TV and in stadiums again
- Susannah Melvoin, an intelligent women trying to free herselve from the 'image' of being just another Prince-doll, but probably the woman Prince did love the most (witness the lyrics on Sign of the Times)

Sarcastic? maybe razz

I always thought Pearl wouldn't sleep with him, but Diamond would. And Mayte jumped on Prince once she was an adult...So no holding back there much. I have no idea what Prince might respect and what he wouldn't.

BTW, did Cat ever get close to Prince, or was it always merely professional?

I'm pretty sure Prince tapped just about every chick that came through the Paisley camp. ESPECIALLY a fine broad like Cat.

Prince should have a baby with Bjork:

I am not sure what kind of looks that would deliver (mixing black, phillipan and italian genes with english and inuit ones)...lol, but when that kid inherits its parents musical genes, we can witness the rise of the first
post-postmodern musical genious of the 21th century wink

Is Bjork really that critical though? Musical genius? Naw, I can't feel you on that. Prince and Teena Marie maybe...but not Bjork.

who is Teena Marie?????

Sorry, i often see that name in here, but i never heard a song of her, i guess she only had succes in america (I am european). If she is a sole R&B / funksinger she would do no right to Prince musical range...

I wonder if you have ever listened to Bjork-records like Homogenic and Vespertine. Soulfull, spiritual, original, visionary records. Records like Prince used to deliver in the period 1985 - 1988.

Teena Marie is multi-instrumentalist in the same cut of Prince. A very talented voice and producer. And I don't think Prince would need the help of anyone to get more range.

I haven't listened to too much Bjork, I was just commenting on throwing the term "genius" around so freely. VERY FEW artists are musical genius.

well, trust me, Bjork is a genious musician, Homogenic and Vespertine are two of the best records released in the last years: creative, visionary with very strong lyrics (a women being confident about herselve, without feeling the need to calling herselve a bitch).... A musician who dares to explore her borders (Homogenic is about electronic beats combined with strings, Vespertine is almost semi-classical, voice and orchestra, very endearing, but organic, soulful;)...

I always thought Teena Marie was some 'subtop' female R&B / funksinger that happened to be 'around there' when Rick James and Prince where doing there thing... I mean, why do we never heard of her over here in Europe?

Well, again, MUSICAL genius is someone that is well-versed in a few instruments or is just blessed with fantastic musical abilities while having a handicap (Stevie, Ray). I don't believe Bjork falls under either of those categories.

And to be honest, just like Teena isn't known of in the UK, Bjork isn't highly recognized in the States.
