Just as long as we're together....

Everything's alright!!.....Been going way back in the old collection and have been getting friendly with this track again.... it is just so fantastic and upliftting!! especially when you think how young he was, I would love to have a remastered version of the For You album and be able to pump this tune in the summer!! any other lovers of this song out there?

Yeah , it's quite cool
Especially considering P played all the instruments himself

Why do you need a remastered version in order to play this song in the summer? I'm just curious.

Great song! There's some alternate versions on the Studio Nights set that even funk it up some more, less produced pop, just raw funk.

They're boots and I'll get a lashing if I tell. But I bought mine on Ebay several years back for a hundred bucks or something.

What no one has touched on was how he basically did a DUET with HIMSELF on this cut. Truly ingenious.

Hasn't most hi-fi systems since the mid-80s come up either with a graphic equalizer or a bass/treble boost switch? That's what most "remastered" versions are in reality anyway.

Yep fair point, but being a bit of an annoying perfectionist I want some clearer separation in the sound....yeah I know don't say it!! lol

Finally! Someone came to add some CLARITY to the topic! wink biggrin

When I 1st heard it and I heard the 2nd verse, I FIRST thought it was another member of his group signing that verse...then I wised up and realized brothaman just switched from falsetto to tenor and ROCKED THAT SHIT!

The old cd's all suffer from poor gain. You can cut and boost the graphic all you want but until its transferred digitally and upsampled you won't be able to crank it without tradeoffs.

Remastering is an art. Bob Ludwig is one of the best he would do a great job.

Back to the song. Love it. But does anyone else hear the ET tonight on the horn turnaround..... Prince deserves some royalties for it I think

Well some people around here say that Prince sang nothing but falsetto until Dirty Mind came out. Too bad they're missing out on this gem.
