I don't remember the date...but it was a show at the Fourm in Inglewood(where the Lakers Used to play in the good ol' days. I think it was the Hit & Run Tour but I'm not sure. I was soooo pissed...he didn't cancel it till the last minute...we found out AFTER we drove the 2 hours thru traffic to Inglewood from Rancho Cucamonga. I did see this TIGHT ASS Pink Caddi Convertable(I think)...this dude with this humongous afro was bumpin Pink Casmier in his Pink Caddi with his girl at his side...that fool was Big Pimpin'...I admired him for a cpl of minutes...!

It was in September 1998 during the American leg of the NewPowerFestival with Chaka and Graham Central Station and Doug E. Fresh.
After either falling/jumping off his piano, he hit a speaker, and did something to his ankle. He was forced to reschedule some dates, including Detroit. Prince was about to go on stage in Inglewood, at the Great Western Forum, in Los Angeles, but five minutes before the start of the show, it was canx. I remember this because I was flying down from Anchorage to see the NP Festival in San Francisco/Concord. A lot of the Bump Squad and Freaks on This Side in San Fran were all hoping I did not come down from Alaska for nothing. A lot of the Bay Area Freaks did go down to LA for the show. Luckily, the show went off in San Fran, and 40 miles away he put on a suburb aftershow at Slims, next to DNA, in downtown San Fran. Best part is that I got to meet Mani for the first time. She noticed my red NPG hockey jersey on, and I took a liking to her security/tour all acces badge. We got into talking about THE WAR realtime player download and how I sent in $7 for the free download. Mani asked me where I was sitting at the Concord Pavillion, and she sought me out after Chaka got done with her set. She handed me an exclusive copy (at the time) of THE WAR on CD. Made my day, night, trip. I also remember the Cleveland date was postponed, but the Cleveland and Detroit gigs went off later on in November/December 1998.
