If the new album by Prince came out tomorrow...

would you buy it on the day of release not knowing anything about it at all? No track list, no title...nothing. Simular to the original idea of the Black Album's intended release in 1987.

I've bought a Prince album the DAY IT CAME OUT from "Purple Rain" all the way to "New Power Soul". That's 1984 till 1998.

Since I heard RAVE on the radio before it came out, I didnt have to buy it the first day. Same with TRC.

OMG, could you imagine just how wonderful it would be if surprise releases were a possibility? If you hadn't had any preconceived ideas of what the album sounded like and hadn't had any critics or fans saying what they thought of it before it reached your ears? As much as I love information about future P releases on the internet, I'd love it if he really could release albums without us having any prior knowledge of them. The internet is great for the most part, but there are times when I'd love the pre-internet surprise element to return.

Trouble is unless I decide to quit the internet in total, it ain't gonna happen.

I would be throwing my usuall "party" tomorrow night. The first listen is crucial. You can't just listen to a little here, a little there. You got to take the journey all at once. The day Emancipation came out, I was blasted by the end of the third disc. To this day, I love that album.

Heh... do you need to ask... of course. I've seldom waited to hear anything first from a Prince album prior to buying it. Usually I do get them on release day.

It wouldn’t matter whether or not I head his album, I would purchase it the day of sale unless something stopped me from doing it on that day. I’ve bought most every P album the day his music have gone on sale wink

Um...Prince and Warner Brothers.December 8th 1987 if I'm not mistaken was going to be the release date. P cancelled it at the last minute but not after some copies got out. That how the infamous Black Album bootleg scandal came about.Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong.

In a second. There's nothing better than coming home, turning all the lights off, and relaxing in bed with the headphones on as you listen to a new Prince album.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
