2:41 of Xotica: Blackwells hits an off beat painfully Xotica, 2 minutes 41 seconds
John Blackwell really misses beat and it hurts my ears. i thought prince was perfect and old john boy was always right on it but this proves me wrong. it's a technical fault which frustrates me because it could be incorparted into the music. instead it just sounds lazy and reveals how fake and cheezy prince can sound. come on you have to admi he's the king of cheeze. \i'll do anything sountrack, graffiti bridge the song, and the best of all...this one i actually really like. WEDDING FEAST. that is a beast of beautiful piece of music prince is king of this genre and absolutely every part that he does

It does sound a little funny, but he's right on with the horn. The horn does a little syncopation and I think it shows John's precision, not his laziness. But then again, you could be right and John messed up.

the horn's doing the simple coda. candy's right on it yet john just slips one beat in there that doesn't belong

now does it really matter THAT much? one second of one song?
btw...I don't think it is Blackwell....sounds like a sound glitch. It's goin' down y'all.

[Edited 4/30/05 11:02am] yes it is an error in the file...! the file was replaced on the site, so try to get hold of the correct one. no-one is offbeat. Dawntreader is right -- this track, when it was originally posted for a free download a couple years ago, had a glitch in the MP3 file. The glitch was corrected soon after the initial file was posted. The version that is for sale with the XPectation album in the Musicology download store also does not contain this glitch.
