Poor Little Bastard I adore this song.
I've always thought it sounds very similar to Damn U, in terms of arrangement and tempo. so much so, that one could even simply replace Damn U on the album. even the bridge-esque part (or whatever it's called), which incidentally is my favourite part of the song. "I've always loved you, Like the stars will love the moon..." etc. c.f. "Like animals, just born to breed..." etc. from Damn U. so any-hoo, anyone dig this tune / know anything about whether it was considered for inclusion in the album?

Couple of months back some wanker lent me a CD that had this song on...it's delicate, cool and has a feel 2 it reminiscent of 'Sweet Baby' from the 1992 album.

Yes, "Poor Little Bastard" is in many ways the early, reworked version of "Damn U". The motifs are almost identical at many parts and so are the arrangements.
"Poor Little Bastard" wasn't meant to be included on the 0(+> album itself. It was meant for another project, which was the discarded soundtrack for a movie called "I'll Do Anything" (starring Nick Nolte). For instance, "The Rest Of My Life" and "My Little Pill" were proposed for the project as well. You should hear something of a similiar feel about those three tracks. [Edited 4/28/05 8:06am]

I've never heard this song (but I'm dying to because I love Damn U and Sweet Baby). Is it sung to a child without a father, a lover, or what?
