One Night Only! Sat, April 30 at Midnight at the Egyptian Theatre!

Midnight Mass with Your Hostess Peaches Christ" comes to Seattle for one night only! This San Franciscan treat is a midnight movie phenomenon led by drag sensation Peaches Christ, complete with pre-show entertainment and audience participation. Sing-Along Purple Rain is Seattle's Midnight Mass debut, and features projected lyrics for maximum rocking during the screening of Prince's first motion picture. Ms. Christ encourages everyone to dress up and compete in her "80's Slut Pageant" preceding the film! Let's go crazy!

as opposed to the Purple Rain soundtrack showing? I know we're not the brightest bunch around here but I hardly think many of us would have been confused without the clarification that it was the film that was showing and not the soundtrack. last I checked you didn't really show cd's, you listened to them.
this message brought to you by logic.

It's the movie and everyone is encouraged to sing a long. They have a lyric sing a long thing a ma jiggy at the bottom of the screen...so you can follow the lyrics (like you need em). But the best part is everyojne screaming thier favorite lines...like when Prince comes int he house all mad and shit and goes "Where are you Muther Fucker!" Everyone screaming that line...hilarious like cancer.

lol no. It's just Peaches and her small crew. You should check out her website and contact her if you are really interested. Though you'd have to pay them somehow, I'd imagine...either the theatre or whomever bring em to ya.

I have to say to EVERYONE...if you want this kind of stuff in your cities, you need to do the work. Either contact those who ARE doing it and let them know that there is a huge want where you are to do this type of thing. Or maybe they can help you get one organized.

This goes for the Purple rain sing along...prince gatherings, one off parties. There are not PRINCE ORGANIZERS in each city...you need to make your own. Get these folks together...UNITE. It can be done. nod

I saw it. It was fucking awesome. nod

There was a drag show that opened it, with the ladies acting out several of the songs from PR, and an 80s slut contest with people pretending to give each other head on popscicles, and then the movie with singalong. Watching a movie that takes itself VERY seriously the way PR often does with a group of people who aren't there to take it seriously is, as it turns out, BEYOND hilarious. I never realized what a crackup it is. lol

Good times. thumbs up!
