Actually he's given us so little. Please understand that this is a computer, therefore voice inflection is hard to interpret, maybe I should write in sarcasim font to make it more obvious. Yeah I feel ripped off - so should all of you. Do I really care? No. I expected it, I'll be happy with the record when I get it.

.. One of NPGMC's main problem is the lack of information, usually, when you buy something, you know what you are.

I agree. Now this is a more of a sensible complaint

Half of the people complaining about the album or the downloads are the same ones that EVEN NOW ask stupid questions like

"Is this an acoustic album?"

"Is Xenophobia on this cd?"

"Were those songs in last years NPGMC downloads?"

The only thing one can conclude from such nonsensical jibberish is that you aren't even a member. Cuz if you were, you would know the answer to these kind of
questions.

Jezus Christ.

If this tracklist is for real, who gives a flying shit if those 4 songs were released last year?

So you would rather Prince took those 4 songs off the original album and replaced them with something else?

There'd be another 300 people complaining about the fact that those songs were left off the album. Including me. Those are some brilliant compositions and I don't think I'm the only one who's glad that he'll have Pearls B4 The Swine on a decent cd instead of on the harddrive of his pc.

I can put up with all the whining and bitching about the customer service at NPGMC, but complaining about an album before you've even heard any of it is just childish.

Next thing some ass will run his mouth and start a petition complaining about the fact that "Avalanche" is on the album.
No doubt there'll be a moronic comment like 'but he played this song in concert, that is not what I want to pay for'.

Nooooo. You all want 3 live cd's to be part of this year's npgmc. Live albums you will then be able to file right next to the gazillion live boots from 1978-2002 you've got in your stinking little homes. And after you've listened to that live album you can start complaining and beating eachother over the head with trite babble like

'but the show I attended featured a much better version of Joy In Repetition. I don't understand Prince anymore, why would he not use that one? I hate this album, I hate Prince, the NPGMC ruined my sorry little excuse for a life'

Get a fucking grip you wankers.

Moonbeam

People are forgetting that the membership fee includes more than the four albums. It includes concert presale passwords, (generally) free admission to afterparties with VIP status, etc. You can't really put a price on those things, but that alone is worth the $100 for me. The way I see it, the four CDs are a bonus. However, I do feel sorry for those of you who live outside the United States. In your case, the $100 membership does only include the cost of four CDs.

Moonbeam is sooooo fuckin right. Personally I didn't join this year until I confirmed that he was actually coming to Dallas, cause the 4 CD's weren't worth $100 to me. I got more than my $'s worth from the great seats at the concert and the aftershow I got to see. The CD's are bonus as far as I'm concerned.

For those members who gambled that he was gonna perform in your particular side of the globe/country/town/municipality, you got screwed, it happens. Such is life.

Prince probably will have to shut down the site instead of

But seriosly..why doesn't just take one of his concerts from ONA and just release that? I mean jeeze..why is it that the bootleggers can do a better job of this that he can? If he released 4 live CDS (of various tours over the years) of pristine quality the fans would be ecstatic. But no..he give us a 35 minute CD with songs we downloaded earlier this year.

That comment is along the train of thought that I've been pondering lately. So many people complain that Prince is money hungry and that he just throws below-par songs out there 4 us 2 obtain. But that flies against what we see on his stance about releasing some of the shows. The word is that he's never happy with the sound quality of these shows. He knows that we would gobble these up in a second and yet he still chooses not to release sub standard sounding shows.
I think that at times Prince does become a little greedy with our dollar bills. But than at other times I think the man is extremly generous. Go back and look at the history of what he has released. It's a heck of alot more than most other recording artist. And yet we still demand more...I know that I'll be happy with this latest cd. What I do wonder is the greatest 0}+> hits that he's mentioned releasing...I'm sure 90% of the club members already have these cd's. I think that would be a little greedy on his part...but I'll wait and see what he releases 2 us be4 I get upset...

Well there are a number of ways to look at this y'all, if you want to look at all....

Seems as though everyone is on one side or the other...hooray for Prince or Fuck you Prince.... always the seperation though... except for WB maybe smile

It could be said that Prince said all he needed to say on this record. Meaning that it's not necessary to overproduce some things...KISS it, Keep It Simple Stupid.

There have been some really long records that are nothing more that segues and loops to add "filler". There have been projects such as Emancipation, where it seems as though every random thought running through the man's head HAD to be put to a beat. In the end with Emancipation, you had 3 long CD's 36 trax and about a total of 10 good to great songs. Emancipation in my opinion is exactly what I don't want... alot of mediocre material.

I'll take the single CD, short or not, with good stuff anyday!

I think there are some good points by those of you who say quality not quantity. The first 4 records were short on time, yet most of you enjoyed them. My feelings are that this will be true here as well.

My parting thoughts are this...I have not been thoroughly satisfied with a Prince record in many moons (probably TGE). That's not to say that I have not enjoyed the output, but really,...Prince HAS set the bar pretty high... even for us.

You people never cease to make me laugh. It's great.

Podunk #1: Dammit! I hate Prince! How dare he release music that I already bought last year! I'm done with this shit, he can KISS MY ASS, goodBYE!

Podunk #2: Dammit! I hate Prince! How dare he release only 35 minutes of music when he has a gazillion minutes in the vault! I'm done with this shit, he can KISS MY ASS, goodBYE!

Podunk #3: Dammit! I hate Prince! How dare he give all the worthwhile perks to people who live in his home country! I'm done with this shit, he can KISS MY ASS, goodBYE!

I hear you all, but I fit in with Podunks #4:
Prince is a little punk sometimes, but I think he is actually trying to do something innovative here. I don't like gambling my money, but I feel like I have to if I want to try to take this ride with him. So I'm gonna pay up and shut up and try not to expect even a tiny little bit more than I was promised, enjoy what I do get, and be thrilled if I get more.

I understand the rest of you podunks, and why you are pissed off, but is it really worth being this upset? For me, Prince is only worth spending money on because having his art in my life makes me happier than I would be otherwise. If it doesn't make you happy, don't send him your money. Geez.

This is the promised piano album. Who says he wont later on decide to release a live one from ONA..and if he does he is gonna edit and fix it so there will still be complaints etc.

And about bootleggers doing a better job of putting out his live stuff etc..well thats their main focus..thats why. Prince is creating shit and recording it...besides since there is so much live stuff out there anyways, whats a official release gonna do? Satiate the craving for live material--u said it yourself..the boots are out there and those who oput them out there have done a fine job. And I agree. So why not have Prince still give us different stuff? No amoutn of releases is going to satisfy Prince fans..we know this. We want everything thats possible. It is part of the sickness.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I paid for membership for the most part because of the concert tix. I got those, and I had the time of my life at the shows- quite the experience!

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I download ENTIRE albums all the time, but yet I still purchase the album in the stores. Why? Because I like to have the case and booklet. So if I downloaded 6 out of 10 ONA songs, oh well. That's four new songs, and a REAL CD rather than the burnt one I have with those songs.

The membership fees are for the whole package. The concert experience, the CD's, and whatever else happens throughout the year.

I'm not saying I'm not disappointed. Obviously I would love to have 60-75 minutes of music, good or not. But I'm content because I know this is going to be a solid album. Too many people want to complain. Just be happy with what you've got.

The important thing to remember is that as Prince fans, we are extremely lucky. How many other artists soundchecks have you been too? How many artist interactions have you had? How many of you have got at least 4 CD's from your favorite artist in ONE YEAR? Probably none.

I'll spend $15 on the Eminem CD I'm listening to right now when it's released for just the CD. I paid about $75 to renew my NPGMC membership and I'm getting 4 CD's, the best concert tix, soundchecks and aftershows. That's a bargain in my eyes.

Stop all the whining. Save all that shit until the year is up. I have a feeling everyone will be more than satisfied then.
