While I would love for that to happen and its a great idea, that is probably has never been a part of Princes planned intentions. . .

actually, i had a chance to ask P about releasing live CD's at a soundcheck last year and he said it was in the works or something like that . . . .

Is that part of the written agreement we all received?

Maybe because we already bought these 4 songs and we don't like paying twice for the same thing...

Prince's first 4 albums were all short. (Approximate times)

For You: 36:44
Prince: 40:47
Dirty Mind: 30:10
Controversy: 37:11

So you're already complaining about the length of the album, and most of you haven't heard it yet. Do you consider any of these albums above to be "too short"? Would you dismiss them because of their length alone?

You'll bring up the $25 argument . . . yes it is a little high, but some of you are the same people who will pay $50 for a CD-single if you didn't have it in your collection . . . why complain now?

And Prince always counted those 4 songs from January as part of this album.

At least wait until you've received all of your albums this year . . . who knows, one may be 2 hours - you don't know . . . will you then complain that it's too long?

peace

Well if Prince put 10 tracks on ONA inluding the 4 previously downloaded tracks, then people would be pissed and say why coouldnt he have taken those 4 off and given us 4 other ones. If he kept those songs off and gave us 14 completely new tracks without the previously downloaded previewed ones then people would be pissed that they werent included so we could have them in cd quality.

There will always be people who will NEVER be satisfied and bitch and complain. Even if Prince released his whole vault untouched, people would still complain. I bet my life on it.

Yeah, we know it's short, big deal- most albums put out by most artists today are still the length of the old lps from back in the day. Weezer albums are about 30 minutes long, as are Sugar Ray albums, etc. See this is the thing, you wanna know why albums today don't stand up to albums of the past? They have too many songs on them. It creates an increased amount of weak material. The albums lose their cohesiveness because it takes more than one sitting to get through one. One other thing to think about: The Truth was roughly the same length as One Nite Alone. That's part of the plan with these acoustic albums it seems. One brief, intimate cycle of songs. Yeah, we've heard 6 of these songs. These 6 songs are very strong. They fit together. And I wanted to have them on an official album. Can't wait to hear the other four together with these. Should be a soothing, beautiful CD.

Well there's talk that those 4 already dl songs may not eb the exact instrumentation as the ones released on ONA. I get it dont worry.

When these songs first became available I considered them to be like a cd single. A preview of the coming cd which would include these songs. I made the choice not to listen to them until the whole cd was released so I wouldn't be tired of them. It was never hidden that these were upcoming cd tracks. Why acted pissed now? You've known this for a while.

35 minutes? Doesn't that constitute an EP? I've got Rancid albums that are longer than that. What a fucking joke, we should've known Prince would try to get by with as little as possible. Oh well, at least I can toss those last few MP3's. They sounded like crap anyway.

QUALITY NOT QUANTITY.

Afterall, isn't that what you 'complainers' have been trying to tell Prince for years? But hey, maybe you just enjoy having something to complain about.

I'd advise that you reserve comments until you actually hear the CD in its entirety.

Well, I'm not used to buy CDs and to put them aside, not listening to them, same goes with last year's NPGMC...
What we didn't know for a while was that what we bought last year would make up half of what we're buying today... One of NPGMC's main problem is the lack of information, usually, when you buy something, you know what you are.

EXACTLY!!! Some people rant and rave about NPS and Exodus (which are shit) but complain that this ONA CD is 10 minutes shorter that Prince's average album . . .

Would you RATHER have 10 more minutes of crap? Or would you rather have a beautiful, cohesive album?

Oversimplification seems to be your strong suit, I see...I simply said that I could already see what people were gonna complain about...mind pointing out where in my post I said they didn't have a right to do so???...What's that??..You don't see it anywhere in my post??...That's because I never said they didn't...so keep your moronic "30's Germany" remarks private...
