Man, we're a big bunch of spoiled fans. Musicology was released on April 20, 2004. That was a year ago this week. It's only been 367 days since Prince's last album was released (not to mention the three or four songs released on the NPG website), and we're all losing our minds over the "long wait" between records.

Look at those other people named...Springsteen, the Foo Fighters, and the White Stripes have taken three years between releases and Nine Inch Nails have only released three albums in the past 12 years!

Hang on, Prince's new album will come in time...

During these times without a new album to consume me, I actually enjoy the spare time to revisit all the non-album tracks like "Do Yourself A Favor","Lisa" or "Purple Music" you know all that stuff that really makes you understand what the fuss is all about. I would prefer he takes his time and put together something great, than some half-ass, bland jazz muzak

This is the downside to a succesful CD. More sales milking time and worrying about over-exposure.

You want a greater output? Pray for the old days of no popular appeal.
Because if he put out a CD too soon after a successful one people would bring up Around the World in a Day so soon after Purple Rain.
