Be honest...choose which scenario you'd rather see.

Okay, if you looked into a crystal ball and saw two futures, one where Prince remains married as a JW but all his future albums suck, and an alternate one where all his future albums are fantastic but he's divorced and has drug problems (and no longer a JW, no Larry, etc.), which one would you wanna see come true?

Basically, either he stays happy and born again with his music getting more and more boring, or he's unhappy and that pain creates masterpieces. You have control over which you'd rather see come to fruition.

Hey, news is slow, let's get some discussion going.

The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Wow.

I know which one I'd choose, but I'm intrigued as to whether this thread will provoke the kind of interesting answers I think it might.

Yeah, it certainly must be....

I'll answer though.
Honestly, I'd never wish harm (drug problems? That's terrible!) upon someone just to satisfy my own fandom. Even though I don't know Prince personally, I'd still want him to do what makes him happy. That goes for any of my favorite artists.

Well I think I would rather see Prince Married, healthy and his Band line up
Prince
Larry
George Benson
William Devaughn
Brown Mark
Rebbie Jackson
Shelia E
Dez Dickerson
(ie. all of the christian friends and band mates)

Than him being a strung out 50 year old junkie smoking crack but making incredible tunes with the Revolution. Most would choose thelatter but thats just selfish.

Hell, he wouldn't do the type of music I've been wanting from him for 20 years so what difference does it make either way?

No more than Prince has been stuck in 60s and 70s for the past 20 years.

Personally I don't care if he does drugs or not, but I'd like to see his next album cover jazz, jazz fusion, old school soul, neo soul, neo jazz soul, dance jazz, dance soul, soul jazz, and jazz soul dance fusion soul

I wouldn't wish a drug habit on my worst enemy so there's no way in hell I'd want that for Prince! He never has to release another thing, I have plenty of the great stuff he's already done. As long as he's healthy and happy, that's enough for me.

You bet. P has all ready given more than most musicians do. If I'm left with a couple of great songs per album the rest of his career, I'm cool with that.

Miserable Prince. His music can be his therapy. I know that seems selfish, but unless you haven't heard, it IS all about ME.

That's my story and i'm sticky to it. And plus, he made great music even when he didn't do drugs. I want pimp, miserable, funky, don't give a fuck Prince. Not Rev. Prince

I was going to pick the fantastic music, but then I pictured Prince
looking all drugged up and unhappy and eventually ODing.

I'll take happy Prince! Cause he's already given us ten times more great music
that what many musicians put out ever biggrin
If you will, so will I

You know what? No, I think I'd rather have happy Prince...after all I thought Come was a great album...but around that time his condition made me very sad...I was actually afraid he might commit suicide or something like that...Prince is too beautiful of a person it would break my heart to see him all strung out...but I wouldn't mind if he dumped the JW faith and Mani and started going through girlfriends like he did in the eighties, me being one of them ofcourse! wink

I would want him to be happy, because (as corny as it sounds) Treat others how you would want to be treated. I wouldnt want someone to wish a drug habit on me!
Doesn't it make you smile when you realize no one was there to see the stupid thing you just did?
