i had a dream last year that Prince died. it was very depressing. he won't die for a long time... try not to worry. and when he does, there will be months of vigils from me. but to the question at hand, i hope that the stuff is released. then i can listen to it and cry and cry...

I don't want to see Prince dead. he should get a funeral like the Pope when he dies because he is a much loved man and super sexy to boot! Prince will die one day just like everyone here at the org and when Prince dies, if I am still alive in ten years I plan on,, robbing his grave, and taking his corpse, I don't know where I will store the Prince corpse, but I finally get to lick his ass....

WHEN Prince dies, his folks will dig the vault only to find a bunch of songs (nowhere near the amount speculated), most of them we'd already heard and the others in such a bad state of decay, they can't be restored or they'll take a lot of restoration (course there'll be a few new recordings).

I always wonder though, what is Prince actualy waiting for? What is stopping him from realeasing some old stuff now? - apart from his religeous beliefs. He aint getting any younger, his fan base is dwindling...

I mean, If he really has as many songs as he claims, how come since he left Warner Bros, the pickings have been so thin? (album wise). Least with Warner Bros we got a complete album every year and single to boot!

When the dude goes, we'll either be showered with so many songs we won't know what to do and be left with the question 'Why didn't he release this stuff?' or we'll see the scraps left and understand why he didn't.

I like to think the man is planning a series of big releases for the near future, and that the NPGMC is just R&D. Maybe he's actually having the old tracks remastered. Make some sense as to why it's taking so long. Releasing poor quality stuff wouldn't go down too well with todays audience.

Man think of the product... complete unreleased album concepts with extensive linear notes and bonus recordings, packaged in designs by Laura Lipuma, Jean Baptiste Mondino, Prince...

Anyway... so When Prince dies...

Even if we DID get the stuff in the vault, Rex is right -- it probably wouldn't be worth anything the quality would be so bad and it'd be all decayed. Once it's gone, it's gone.

There's been a few attempts to get Prince to archive the vault and save some of
the material that is already starting to deteriorate. Unfortunately he won't
do it.

Prince is so unsophisticated when it comes to his product. He probably has his songs in shoe boxes
