To those ga ga over Prince's looks... If you didn't think he was so fine would you be nearly as much of a fan?No offense to anybody but some people here talk about his looks and sex life considerably much more than his music.
Granted,I'm always curious as to about whom and what expiriences may have inspired certain songs but, when all is said and done,it's all about the music.I mean,God bless Prince for simply being a human being trying to make a difference in the world and all.I'm just grateful that he does it in such an ear pleasing way.Being a heterosexual male,I couldn't care less how he looks.I'm just glad the brother represents by breaking all the rules of limitation! How important are Prince's looks in relationship to your admiration to Prince as a musical artist?

This would be called a GOOD segregration if the 2 kinds (of fans) could be hauled off to their own island. But it's cool.. like roaches in the sun , scatter when the light of truth hits em and easy to see.

The Music comes first. Looks, however, are somewhat connected to the music in that somebody else who looked lets say--ordinary--probably wouldn't have had as big as an impact. For instance, Prince singing Insatiable is way different then say Will Downing singing it.

Are you saying that if Prince looked like Biz Markee than The Beautiful Ones wouldn't be as sexy?

The music comes first.
It should be about his music over his looks. Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Actually I liked his music before I even knew what he looked like. So that fact that he's attractive is icing on the cake. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm straight, so what do I care? Him being a beautiful man just makes him more interesting to me, but it's a distant third to me behind his musical talent and attitude. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

I agree. Its seems tho he plays on his looks in connect with the music. He is talanted but some of his female fans and some of his homosexual fans tend to make it just as important as the music. Kind of like us guys do with Alicia Keys, Amel larrieux, ect. when there are equally as talented regular looking artist like inda arie and meshell ndegochello. "Thinking like the Keys on Prince's piano, we'll be just fine"

Good points. I usually use Alicia Keys and Angie Stone as my comparisons but Meshell is a far better example.Especially now in the video music age, talent has become a back seat to how sexy somebody looks in a promo clip.

I do go ga ga ...but I have to say...it is only part of what attracts me...I love his music, his performances, and mostly his unpredictibility. I love that we are always left to wonder ...after all of these years I am still discovering him...music, looks, and all...
And damn...yep, he is fine! "We love you from the bottom of our hearts to the top of our souls...thank you!" Prince ~ Musicology Tour ~ Denver 8/2004

Oh I definatly would! In fact I used to go nuts when Prince songs used to come on the radio and that was before I ever saw a picture of him! I just liked the sound. I could recognize that "Prince" sound and I loved it.
His looks and sexuality is just a bonus. I will always love his music and love him for creating that "80s Minneapolis sound.

His overall talent is what attracts me to him. Then his looks. Its kind of hard not to be attracted to him, I would think. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

HIS LOOKS ARE ALL HE HAS TO OFFER IN MY OPINION. HIS MUSIC SOUNDS LIKE ANIMALS DYING IN A FOREST.

My Prince priorites
1. Musical talent (always first) 2. Personality 3. Image, looks, health Anyone who says looks don't matter (and is not blind) needs to ask his/herslf "why am I lying to myself?" If you will, so will I

I first initially noticed Prince on the TV back in the 1999 days due to his looks which made me sit down and LISTEN to the music, which then got me intrigued and interested in hearing more of his music which in turn led me to being a huge - and longtime devoted - fan.
His looks are definitely an asset and give his music an added dimension, and I personally find him gorgeous. But, if the music weren't so damn great I'd not have stuck around, gorgeous looks or not. His talent is what keeps me around. He is purdy to look at though!

To clear up the above post:
This doesn't mean a person has to be sexy or beautiful to have his/her talent recognized and appreciated, but a look of general health and confidence within makes a difference on how the music sounds and how its recieved. If you will, so will I

So if Prince became ill and his appearance reflected that to a degree (I'm not talking in terms of extremes here, but enough to be noticed), his music wouldn't sound as good or be received as well?
