is this princes most sophisticated album to date?

ONE NIGHT5 ALONE

lyrically it damn near borders on the poetic and it works on so many levels..one can only imagine the vibe in the studio, for me this is one of his "truer"works as at this point in his career he was purely doing music for himself..his fan base was miniscule and he really had jackshit to prove..

a pure work of beauty and genius

and "pearls before the swine"will laways be one of my favourite songs....

"come you must let me dress u

but 1st i must do a sitting...."

I know some think it's a bland fest and fake jazz but thats not the point. I feel it's sophisticated. Something you can put on at a formal dinner party, something to relax to with wine, something to relax ina bath with, something to give mood to a room.

For me, his most sophisticated album has to be Sign O The Times. Although it was a little wild and ecelectic, it showed a more true and mature Prince.

avalanche is such a clever song..he claims innocence just like every snowflake in an avalanche.....genius

the point of this thread was not to compare albums..sign o the times just does not compare...a double lp of such magnitude by a 27/28 yr old to a piano and voice album by the same artist in his 40s.....

all amazing works of art..but very very different
