Not really news, but I had to share...

I work for a TV show in Orlando, FL, and one of our hosts was part of a celebrity charity softball game Friday night (the 15th). A little after 9pm, he called and said "Guess who's playing in the game here tonight...Sheila E!" He said he would try to get me an autograph or something and hung up. A few minutes later he called again, but when I answered it was a female voice. Yeah...it was Sheila! He explained to her what a Prince/Sheila freak I am (especially since I had just made him watch her performance on the NAACP awards a few days ago) and she said she would give me a call. She was incredibly friendly, and even asked how far away I was, implying she would meet me in person at the stadium. Unfortunately I was an hour away and couldn't have made it in time. We talked for about three minutes, but I don't remember much else about the conversation. I was trying too hard not to start screaming "SHEILA I LOVE YOU!!!!!" Not long after her call, my friend called me back and said he also got her autograph for me, and that she had written me a message in backwards mirror writing. I haven't seen him yet to get the autograph, so I'm not sure what it says, but I can't wait to get it!

The kicker of this is: when I got back into my car, floating on a Sheila cloud, I had completely forgotten that I was listening to Romance 1600 earlier in the day. So when I started my car "A Love Bizarre" came blasting out. How weird is that?

I never knew it was possible for me to respect and admire Sheila E. more than I already did, but I now I know just how much of a friendly, classy lady she is. THANK YOU SHEILA!!!!!
