I do. Days of Wild is THE FUNK. Erotic city is a very enjoyable dance tune. I guess some you tend to prefer EC because it came aong with PR and you have the nostalgy of these purple days. But I don't. I like the smell of DOW sooooo much. | |

Are we talking about the STUDIO recording of Days Of Wild?
Anyways. Both songs are dope, I just consider Erotic City to be more of a personal classic, as it was inspired by a George Clinton concert, or so they say. Even if it's not true, I love that notion; Prince coming home and running to the studio to lay down that track. On the other hand; nothing really beats all the different takes of Days Of WIld he did during the GOld Experience tour... jeeeez. He did it slow, funky, jazzy, rocky or whatever. Best live jam is the one from Paradiso... |

That's what I think...I mean, both songs are definately THE SHIT...but because Days Of Wild is lesser known than Erotic City, I feel it doesn't get it's due FUNKNESS! Ask yourself...is it more better to my ears because it can stand on it's own as a song? or because I've heard it many more times?  Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. This is a good comparison I admit. His 80s "best kept secret" dance track versus the 90s most "legendary" stomper. I'll have to go with "Erotic City" myself, but both songs would make my TOP20 at least. | |
