What is it? An abandoned project? Have the songs been distributed onto other CD's? Is it a song? Has it been released on something else? When was it supposed to come out? And why can't I find it bootlegged? Almost everything else is available somewhere...

The Dream Factory project had some of Princes most amazing recordings to date. But back in those days he didn't see eye to eye w/WB and wanted to release everything he recorded. Such a shame too. I feel if WB let him release what ever he wanted, we'd have at least 10 to 15 more albums from Prince.

During the time it was made there were many tracks and projects he was considering each with different song line ups and overlaps ..Joey Coco in the Dream Factory which became The Crystal Ball which became Sign of the Times. Not to mention the Camille Album...some of those tracks ended up on Sign of the TImes too. I'd say if you like that output...you'd certianly like much of the songs from that 1-2 year period.

You can hear some of the trax on the Crystal Ball CD Set, which was released in 1997..Dream Factory, Crystal Ball and Movie Star are all on it. It is a bit pricey...as it's 4 cds. And it is NOT filled with songs from that era...it pretty much runs the gamut. But you may be able to find it used. He also put it up for Download in his online store.

The 4 disk comes in a standard 4CD case similar to Emancipation Box. The 5 disk set ...well it's round and clear...cylindar in shape...imagine a big hockey puck. OK so the outercase is fine...but the inner case that houses each disk..is not designed very well. WHen all assembled...you can see the disks and the wobble and shift a little in thier slots. You see the inner is a 1/2 circle plastice piece with just appx 1/8 inch grooves that the cd's sorta slide into..but don't do so snuggly. It's really hard to discribe until you see it. But unless it's gonna sit on your shelf, I find it to not be a really well designed set. I think the booklets (albeit crappy) are the same.

I wish Prince would've made a movie for Dream Factory. That would've tight.

Kamasutra is disc 5. Disk 4 is The Truth. His all accoustic ( or mostly) album. It's very good. It was supposed to be a release, however. he ended up tucking it into the CB. I love The Truth and wish it had had a proper release. Almost worth getting CB just for that. It comes with both versions of CB.

I bought the round clear set when it first came out, but mine didn't include the Kamasutra disc. And you're right about "The Truth", it should have had a proper release.
