Sugar Daddy DOES have Mike on lead.
And yes, on one of the SOTT rehearsal CD's Prince said he liked Sugar Daddy...then he proceeded to sing a little of it..very cute lol

He liked most of their songs, even if he won't admit to it.

Prince said he attended one of the J5's concerts in 1974. And according to my Michael Jackson documentary book, the J5 only played in Minnesota once, in St. Paul, 1974. So that had to have been the concert he was referring to.

August 16, 1974 St. Paul, Minnesota (Civic Center)

I wonder what the show was like and what P thought?

Best J5 tune ever is "Never Can Say Goodbye", which I recently rediscovered when I rented Spike Lee's "Crooklyn". I imagine Prince likes this tune.

I really dig Isaac Hayes's version of this tune. Real sultry & classic Black Moses. smile

Prince said their shoes weren't tall enough lol (I'm not kidding, he really said that). He didn't make ANY comments about their show, just that their shoes weren't high enough lol
