The office twat Someone in my office has just said that Prince has done nothing for the past 15 years and that he hasnt toured since lovesexy! Also that hed rather be an MJ fan coz then at least he gets 2 see him coming out the courtroom everyday, unlike Prince who hasnt left his house 4 years..

That kinda stuff is hard to hear, but just take comfort in the fact that, that person is missing out on great music. AND the next time Prince comes your way, that will be one less person in line getting a ticket so you will get yours easier. Hopefully your office twat doesn't have a 10-13 son. This just happened an hour ago: Someone walked in, looked at my monitor, and rolled her eyes. "Prince? When are you going to get off him? He has no talent." Then, I kid you not, "Jungle Love" came on the radio. She starts giggin' her damn ass off, going, "Now this is real music. Prince can't do this." Well, she's only 18, so I didn't want to be too mean. I just waited a moment, then gave her an evil laugh and told her not only was the song written by Prince, he played most of the instruments on it. She abruptly stopped dancing, then looked really conflicted. She said, "HE did this song? But I like it! Maybe I have to stop liking this song now, damn. HE wrote it? Sigh." I was like I've gotten that same sort of reaction before with the Bee Gees. I played a Prince fan friend of mine some tracks from High Civilization (engineered by Femi Jiya). Asked them what they thought and could they guess who it was. THey really liked it and had no idea who it was. Got through several tracks - had them say "this is really good". Told them who it was, they immediately stopped liking it. Bizzare. |
