Superfunkycalifragisexi..... Shame i cant find The Black Album anywhere. I had it once on casette, but did lost that tape during moving to another house.
Especially for one cut i miss that album: Superfunkycalifragisexi, Its dark and funny, experimental and catchy at the same time. I totally DIG this song, its one of my favourite funktracks ever recorded / releasesed (later on) by Prince.. From that devellish laugh in the beginning, to Sheila's drumming, from the insane lyrics to the weird synthsounds, pure genious! Sometimes it seems like the cuts where Prince isnt trying to hard to follow some kind of concept or purpose, not trying to 'control' himselve, are the most enjoyable, I mean: listen to outtakes like Crystal Ball (the orginal bootleg-cut with Wendy and Lisa), In all my dreams and There's other here with us..... Superfunkycalifragisexi is at the same time a very funky dancesong, but on the other hand creepy and confusing....I think real art benefits from a bit of ambivalence, and heres a song that shows that. Anyone agrees? | |
