Question: Why is the Gold Experience out of print?

Just wondered why the Gold Experience is out of print. What's the deal? Is the result of bad blood with Warner Bros? I'd appreciate any knowledgeable response...

Merci...

Because of music politics at its time of release, and the fact that no one buys it. There is probably no need to have it in print right now. Also, even though Warner has distribution rights, he owns the masters, so maybe he won't allow it.

I don't know. All I know is that I have it, and am glad I do. It's sad though, that for so many of my CDs now, if I lose them, I would have to pay big $$$ to replace them.

This was released as a joint venture with NPG and WB is likely the reason for it being out of print -- even still Gold Experience certified well... gold!

I agree. Its sad because IMHO The Gold Experience was the best material that Prince has put out in a long time. I like it better than anything that has been released since then. Furthermore; Prince and WB should quit acting like a couple of spoiled retarted 3 year old babies. I wonder if they have ever stopped to think that the only ones getting burned are the fans. As usual we are the ones caught in the middle. I would love to see SOTT on DVD or a re-mastered copy of the Purple Rain album; but I doubt anything like that will happen for years to come. Come on Prince!!!! Your always quoting from the Bible. Why don`t you "turn the other cheek" and swallow your pride with WB???
