? about prince

Can sombody tell me why prince wears so much " White " make- up. In some years he looked brighter than a normal white guy! Examples are : Gold era, Graffitti Bridge, even purple rain . Whats wrong with him. Do he wants to look like a white guy. or like his buddy MJ. he is black and should be proud of it. Why isnt he? Whats the problem?
