Perhaps. It's hard to say, really. I'm fairly open and comfortable about my body and my sexuality, but I think that's the result of a combination of lots of different things. Maybe Prince had an influence, maybe he didn't. shrug

You post an interesting question. I am very sexually liberated and consider myself to be pretty non judgmental when it comes to sex. I am an exotic dancer to which may add to it. But ever since I was a kid I always had sexual thoughts and loved sexy people. I wanted to be sexy for as long as I could remember. I have loved Prince ever since I was a little kid and he always seemed so confident and into sex which I loved. I think Prince is THE sexiest man on the planet. I have never seen a man act so SEXUAL like I've seen him act. I think he has shaped my attraction to men too. I have always went for the more ambiguous/androgonus guys more than the macho men. I always have liked guys with pretty eyes. And ever since I liked guys I remember thinking black guys were very sexy. Amd short guys never bothered me. In fact I don't like tall guys AT ALL! Wow I never really thought about how Prince has shaped my ideas of what attractive is! I guess when I got into his music and was crushing on him it came at a time when I really started liking boys. razz

Sounds like Prince's overt sexuality may have played a part in drawing you to Prince. That's cool. I think that's the case for lots of fans biggrin

Most of our "sex lives" takes place in our heads, anyway, regardless of whether we're being sexually active or not.

This is so true. Who was it that said the human's primary sexual organ is the brain?

To say something more on this. You seem to speak of this influence diminutively when, actually that a pretty significant influence. Also it's exactly the kind of ideology I was hoping to bring out in this thread.

nod Mmmhmmm..yes I loved how he forced you to use your imagination you get you aroused. The brain really IS the biggest sex organ. In fact him just simulating sex acts, or hinting at sex with inuendo in his lyrics is way more of a turn on that in your face hardcore pornography. At least for me. But I am a woman so I am sure the opposite sex would disagree with me. Even though I loved Prince's sexual confidence when I was too young to understand who he was I would listin to the radio alot and they played tons of Prince and I didn't know who it was but I loved the sound of his songs. I didn't even know it was the same guy! I just knew "Little Red Corvette" and "When doves cry" and "DMSR" gave me a feeling unlike alot of other songs. When I put two and two together-that creative sexual unique man was the one who sung all those awsome songs I was smitten and have loved him ever since. biggrin

nod

Although for me, it was the Dirty Mind/Controversy/1999 era Prince that was doing the influencing, so, you know, it's a wonder I don't like to get into heavy S&M with my siblings and their pets.

Well...I've always been more sexual than most ppl I know, so I guess that always made me feel like I could immediately "get" Prince more. I love that he's not just some pervert, but very sensual. I relate to that.

nod Yes Sensual. That is the word. Ever notice how alot of male artists think they are being sexy and erotic when they have all there video hoes rubbing on them and whorshiping their shirtless bodies? That to me is not sexy. Prince's videos/stage preformances are erotic and arousing because you just see that when it comes to sex it is about give and take. And making a point that the woman recives pleasure too. Alot of dance and videos today are all about using women as props and it is all so chavanistic. Prince was always more about appreciating women's sexuality, and acknowloging a woman's special beauty and the theroy that one recives pleasure when they give pleasue too. Oh god I hope this makes sense to somebody. razz

I agree with this totally, though I had never really thought of it before. Maybe that's why you can watch Prince sing a song like Darling Nikki while he humps the stage and you don't really feel like your watching something dirty. It's more like a true expression of himself as a person. Whereas you can watch most rap videos or nip tuck and you get that kind of disgusted feeling. It's not because of the acts that you are witnessing but rather it's the fact that it's very self oriented. It seems that anytime someone conveys the idea of pleasing yourself at the expense of others that is disgusting. That's not at all what Prince is about.

I'm almost sure this will not come across right. I'm not good at communicating what I'm thinking sometimes

welp-- what-- people that revel in sex dont care about it?

I can say that P helped me to unearth a lot sexually-- first it was in my mind along with the sexual thoughts. When they started to swirl and mix, i got a little more open to the sexual act-- foreplay as well.

WHen i was younger i was kind of scared of it, being that i was friends with a lot of older dudes-- they would talk about girls they had sex with like they were trash. So i just stayed away from it.
It was naughty in a bad way.

P made it naughty in a good way. The feelings i had thereafter made me feel more accepting.

i got into P. a couple of months before i lost my virginity....
i got more into him before i got into it. Realy into it.

It must've helped that my 1st was a Prince fan as well. biggrin

If brother didn't have good 'n' plenty of his own
In love Pussy never did fall

That is awesome. No matter what anyone tries to tell you a good sex life can make or break a marriage. It's great that Princes music helped you to loosen up. This is the kind of comments I was looking for! biggrin

These guys were perpetuating that same idea I mentioned when I started the thread. They were the great conquerors boasting of their sexual accomplishments while likening the women who made those experiences possible to some kind of disgusting lower life form. How much more contradictory can anyone be? Yet this is the same idea that has been conveyed by Mothers, Fathers, teachers, peers, and high profile figures for who knows how long. No wonder women get married and then decide sex isn't so great after all. All some women know of it is that it's something I can do to please a man, like cooking or cleaning. Well when someone cooks or cleans don't they also reap the benefits of a good meal or a clean house themselves? Shouldn't it be the same with sex? I wish Mothers and Fathers would teach young ladies early on that sex is maybe the most fulfilling experience you can ever have and let them know that it's not dirty to derive pleasure from it. If parents encourage kids to wait for marriage I have no problem with that, but at least talk with them enough so that they don't adopt pre-concieved notions that keep them from ever learning how to have a healthy sex life. Oh well....I'm rambling on waaaay too long. Just frustrates me! lol

BTW I'm not saying it's a womans job to cook or clean. It just served as a good example. lol

Yes, Prince made my sexuality come out. Prince thoughts about sex is the same as I feel. Well, the only way I know about how he feels is in his music. Wish I did know him personally. I would love to come in contact with someone who felt the same way as he does. The thought about candles, incents and satin sheets are great. When I listen to his music I feel like he really loves his lady. That he puts her feelings alone with his. I have put my sexual desires off until I find the right person, alot has to do with my religion and being married. It is hard not to think about it since I have been researching Prince. I can't belive I forgot about him since now. Well,I was trying to live a christian life and I was young also. Prince seems to be an extact duplicate of what I been wanting, but there are other things to consider I do not know him as a person. I just know that the way he thinks about sexual things line up with me. Be a sured that I am not a crazy fan. I just have fantasy. Like alot of us do so of us wish we were with Prince. I guess Mani has nothing to worry about in that area. Not to be in their bussiness. He has made it hard for us ladies not to think of him in a sexual way. The question was asked so I just commented on it. No disrespect to him and his wife but I would love to get a taste of him.

No you convayed it perfectly. Prince is special and one of the reasons so many women like him because is erotic preformances is more about a beautiful feel good experience/and or spirtual uninon between two people (or three). Rather everthing eles you see on TV is all self centered self gratification and it is all about ME ME ME! It is like the difference between a man who wants you to please him and skips forplay and could care less if you are enjoying yourself and just wants to have his orgasm and Prince is like the man who thinks sex without foreplay is inconcivable, is very affectionate/passionate and wants to give you your orgasm(s) first before he even considers penetrating you. biggrin
