Two of Prince's finest ballads..."The Beautiful Ones" and "Electric Intercourse"...i heard that "Beautiful" replaced "Electric" on the Purple Rain album. I think that both songs are MAGNIFICO but just 4 yo opinion...which song do ya think should have made the final cut...Just wanna know from ya fams that's all...

I prefer "Electric Intercourse"..
I think it's more sensual, more "spacey"
but I think "Beautiful Ones" fits the movie & the album better.

I wonder if P ever recorded a "cleaner" version of "Intercourse" where he doesn't say "wake up, Wendy" or " I say the 1st intercouse, I say the 1st 1.."

I like Electric, but I like the scene in the movie when Prince sings Beautiful to Appollonia. It's too bad they couldn't put more music onto an album back then.

We've been pondering over this thing for a decade now. Actually they could have crammed "Electric Intercourse" on the album with a little editing on the other tracks and perhaps using a little more vinyl on the actual LP (just guessing). The reason why it wasn't included was perhaps just because it was "too graphic" and "darling nikki" was enough. I have to say I personally love "Electric Intercourse" more than any other Prince's ballad.
