Sometimes It Snows In April. Hi,
Last night I listened to the track 'Sometimes it Snows In April' from the Parade album. I love this song but, like many others, I must only ever listen to this song a few times a year. During the really low points in my live, i turn to this song. last night was one points so i put my headphones on, lay on my bed and let the music recognise my pain. In my opinion, this song is perfect. it is honest, heartfelt and extremely beautiful. Prince's vocals are some of his best. Its sad to me that prince rarely went down this road musically. right now i can't think of many over songs where he has sung in his natural register in this way. i don't mean songs like controversy, gett off, etc, as they are more monotone or semi-rapped.I mean, truly singing with his natural voice range, stripped down of production wizardry. Although one song could never fully reflect his musical diversity, to me, this is perhaps Prince's greatest piece of music. Sometimes It Snows In April will be the song that i die to. You'll never know a girl called Nikki and you'll never find Erotic City

I remember being about 14 or 15 an i had just got into my geography lesson. For some reason everyone in the class could tell something was up. Our teacher asked us to all sit down an be quiet an just lesson. We did not knowing what to expect. Then out of nowhere the gentle piano playing started. i guess my teacher was going through a bit of a hard time. I passed the word around telling everyone it was a Prince song as i was the only Prince fan in my class. Alot of them twisted there faces but by the end and after our teacher Mr Liddle tried to regain his composure after shedding a few tears they all agreed it was a beautiful song. I had totally forgot about that story until i read the threads. Good Times.
