Are you "known" for being a Prince fan?

So at work the other day I'm in this department meeting and as an ice breaker they have these silly questions that they go around the room and ask everyone and each person answers one and we're supposed to get to know each other better. So when they get to me, my question is "Who's the most famous person you've ever met or been in the presence of?" And the guy asking the question goes, wait, I think I can guess. And the entire room of 20 or so people chime together "Prince!"
giggle
It's not that I talk about him incessantly or anything. I just have a few small pics at my desk and this being Minnesota, everybody asks me about them.

So how bout you?

My family, friends and coworkers all know that I LOVE Prince. Some coworkers call me "Mrs. Prince". When people hear or see news about Prince they make sure to let me know. biggrin

I used to be. Until I entered a party and they turned off
the music and chimed "shakin that ass shakin that ass".

disbelief

For months after, when I was on my way home from school,
people passing by would yell "shakin that ass"

giggle

It made me grow a strong dislike for the song. I hate it!

mad

After that I went underground with my prince obsession smile

Nope. I'm known by family, friends and acquaintances as a musician and an all around "music-lover". I love P, but he's still just a part of a long list. smile

Yes, all my friends, family and some co-workers know that I am a big fan of Prince. Whenever they hear something about him they make sure to let me know, and if they ever have a question about him or his music they never hesitate to ask me because they know that I can give them an answer or will take the time to find out.

Yes I am known for being a Prince fan. In my home town it is considered a joke as I am a 6ft1in skinhead with a goatie, run a kickboxing club,am a part time bouncer, ride a motorcycle, used to be very hot tempered and listen to a man who wears women's clothes.
In fact a few weeks after the one nite alone tour I met a man I had'nt seen in 7 years, his first words to me were well what did you think of the concert?
I asked him was he there and did he see me, he said no he just knew I would be there.
So yes I am known for being a Prince fan- razz

We are a dying breed my friends.

makes me wanna chair them.

Oh pleasae. I'm damn near Prince to everyone who has ever come in contact with me. And to some I barely even know I've found out at times.

Pretty much the same story....
I am also introduces as "If you ever want to know anything about Prince, talk to Peggy"
I was once interviewing for a new position and had a 15 minute discussion on
Prince before we even got to talking about me.

I get that a lot too! lol I don't even consider myself all that big a fan compared to plenty of people on this site. But particularly last year with all the hoopla I would get random emails from co-workers asking Prince questions. It's hysterical!

Oh yes! Hell yes!

I met my wife at a Prince party. We celebrated our anniversary at the "Musicology" tour with front row seats! Not to mention I have a "Purple Rain" movie poster in my office at work and EVERYONE knows that when they see me walking around the spot with my headphones on that I am listening to Prince.

Yes, and many people really think I'm crazy. I know my best friends have met each other a few times and have talked about 'me and Prince', wondering if they should take the responsibility for putting me in a mental institution.

Lately though, I'm getting some respect for my 'obsession' (which is very low, compared to others on prince.org). My ex-boyfriend became a fan a few years after we broke up. He has always pretended to be indoctrinated, but not really a natural fan. Now he is. He even comes up with songs I've never heard about. lol
