yeah, i heard that prince never wanted weird al to parody any of his songs. I think it would be really cool if he did when doves cry. i could only imagine weird al seductively slinking out of the bathtub nude. that would be so great!  How can I live 4 love? I'm calling!!! | |

My 10 year old son likes Weird Al about as much as I like Prince. I took him to a Weird Al concert last year, and it was really pretty good. Maybe some day Prince will stop being a snob and realize that Al is more than just a goof, but a talented musician in his own right. Aside from Coolio, most artists are flattered Al would want to parody their song. Maybe he'll come around in his old age. What ever happened to Coolio anyway? And how much should we charge 4 that?

I kinda like Weird Al. Some of his more recent stuff isn't so great, but who can forget such classics as "Fat", "Another One Rides the Bus", "Alternative Polka", "Gump", and "The Night Santa Went Crazy"?
People criticize his stuff for having childish humour, but since that's what it's supposed to be then what's the problem? As for Prince refusing him: P. needs to get that stick outta his ass. Coolio pretty much disappeared after Weird Al parodized him...he's been on a few celebrity reality TV shows...I don't know why he decided to give it up just because Weird Al parodized his song...  | |

I don't think his falling off can be accredited to that. He came out at a time when 'Gangsta Rap' was seeping back in and u needed to be 'Hard Core'. Either whatever music he did make didn't get out or, he didn't want to be involved. Weird Al rocks though. My favorite was "Mmmm..."
