OK, really - Prince tought me that thinking outside the box is a good thing. I was an half asian/half white kid living in Alabaster Alabama during the 80's and "thinking outside the box" just wasn't something you where raised to do. Prince was that one musician that tought me to be my own person--well, Mr. Rogers, Michael Jackson, and the cast of "The Facts of Life" preached those values too, but they where kind of creepy.

even with the ego, i would hope that he would care enough to accept the thanks and maybe even grace me with a smile. besides, sometimes a shyness and being uncomfortable in the spotlight can be misinterpreted as being aloof and uncaring because of a huge ego. the ony time he seems really, truly comfortable around people he doesn't know personally is on stage.

He influenced me to do as I please, be who I am, and speak my mind regardless if anyone else liked it or not. He also influenced me to not give a damn if anyone else liked it. For me, he was a role model of strength.

Big egos aren't bad. It's what you do with it and that's perception. You have to have one to do what he's done. We could go through a list bad moves directly related to it. But, he's done more good than bad.
