Prince-The Pope While alot of people have a problem with im Prince would rathere the Pope.
Well that is what he said in his song The Pope. Thought it appropriate to bring up this subject since the actual Pope may end up dieing. Anyway, it was a cool song. But I wonder anyway.....why would he rather be the pope than the president. Working up a purple sweat. | |

I don't think he meant it literally.
I think he meant that he'd rather be respected and be dedicated to a cause he believes in than have all the power in the world. Yeah, I also think he meant he'd rather be in a position of spirituality than authority. Oh yeah, and the song sucks. [Edited 4/1/05 19:48pm] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Ít's probably the only P song I really CAN'T relate 2! I went 2 a Catholic school but afterwards I was so sick of how they tried 2 tell people how 2 live their lives AND how they shut out people if they think they don't fit in their system.Also witnessed how a priest always used 2 TOUCH the children who came 2 his house 2 follow lesson.It was innocent-no sex-but the boys and girls of 12 years old didn't like it when he laid his hand on their (upper) leg or in the girls hair. In the beginning it wasn't easy being a Prince fan, discovering He really is into God and all the rest. But I do believe in the message that Prince puts out,Love4oneanother and Positivity!!! And I always replace GOD with LOVE in His lyrics, that works 4 me. Love4oneanother | |
