Photographer selling prints of photos of Prince for $1200 Came across this online today. $1200 each. Seems pretty steep to me but then I'm a brokeass cheapskate.

those pics are nice, but it's not like they're religious relics. if this guy wants to make lots of money from the pics he took, he should license his photographs and have 'em made into postcards and posters and prints and whatnot and sell a bunch of 'em to fans who can afford to shell out $20 or $30 for a bunch of goodies, but who aren't necessarily gonna have the clams to buy a $1,200 photograph.
of course, i'm sure there are people out there who can and will buy a thousand dollar picture. and if you're one of these people, you should orgnote me cuz i have a very special pizza crust i'm willing to part with for a couple of mil.

The high price is only because they are being released in such a small amount. Printmakers and Photographers usually do at least a few hundred prints in an edition and sell their work for a similar price, so by comparison these works will be much more rare.
It wouldn't suprise me if museums were to snatch these up, if they haven't done so already. Edit - I take that back, since he is not giving the buyer any rights...

Those are pretty cool (love to have that colour original of the Let's Work 12" cover), but those prices are outrageous...
...not to mention, I just could never trust a photographer who can't spell 'photos'! [Edited 4/1/05 11:34am]
