i think prince will always be sexual. i don't think sex is what he sees as "the problem". i think it's how it's communicated. he's being just as sexual as he always was, it's just that now he's going more for the metaphor than the prose. maybe he's doing that because of his religion - most likely so; but also, it's the mark of a good artist, i think, in that he's challenging himself more in his writing. it's easy to say "i'm gonna put it in ya". hell, fiddy cent can write that. but writing stuff about putting your load in the washer or whatever, that takes some imagination.
