The most Controversial songs by Prince and the concept behind 'em?? Well as a new fan, I'm starting to dig Prince's messages(Wit a big HELP from you guys) and the more I anderstand 'em, the more I LOVE HIM. But still there're sooo many song I neva know the exact concept behind 'em and they're:
Purple Rain what is a purple rain?? 7 this must be based an a dream. 3 chains of gold I think this goes like 7. Others here with us actually I neva heard the song nor read the lyrics. It would be helpfull if you guys hit me wit sumthin. The ballad of Dorothy Parker More (?s) around my head. Of course there're many many many, shit you might laugh at my simple list cuz you already know more senseless/controversial songs than me. Well holla!! | |

Before I answer your ???'s...please tell me
why you refer to these songs as the "Most Controversial"?? I'd like to preface the following by saying that IMHO interpretations can never be wrong. Each individuals interpretation is based on the sum of what he/she experiences, percieves, believes... therefore I have always felt strongly that all interpretations are valid in their own right. ok with that said... Purple Rain is completion, euphoria, positivity, good intentions, heaven, tranquility, peace, love, calm, warmth, sincerity... 7 = the seven deadly sins. 3 chains of gold = Trinity Others here with us... Go listen to the song first before asking for help... will ya??? I refuse to answer until you hear it for yoself first... why go in with preconcieved ideas??? Controversial is not a bad term. I only asked beause I do not consider these songs to be controversial, whereas songs such as Head, Sister, Family Name, LPWM, I would consider controversial. I was merely trying to get an idea of where are 'coming from'. Finally...What attitude are you speaking of?? I am fully aware of my choices. I clicked, I took my time to honor your request, and then you go and throw attitude check at me??? I don't think so!! 
I will write it off to your being a newbie... but suffice to say (and you can ask just about any org.er) that when Aa gets to throwin attitude you best run for cover because the fallout will be laced with unimaginable brutality !!!

I know "Pussy Control" was widely misunderstood when he released it.
"Darling Nikki" obviously qualifies since it sent Tipper & the PMRC into a tizzy. "Sister", of course. For me personally, it was "Let's Pretend We're Married".
