OH
MY GAWD!!! What an AMAAAAAZING primetime performance!! Unreal! That might be the best television appearance of his I've ever seen. WAAAAAYYYY better show that that lip-synced NAACP affair back in 97 or so after Emancipation. That just rocked. I just don't get how people can ignore this guy. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. I watched this last week but it's even better this time. I never thought Sheila was all that great on the kit but man does she jam on the percussion. The Glamorous Life cowbell/timbale pattern is still a showstopper!

to the person who couldn't view it, manually cut and paste it into an address bar and you can watch it, and if you want to download it i used a download manager like GetRight which worked well, by copying the URL onto that!
right, i know this is weird, and its not going to be one of those tenuous 'hey this is princes new song' shit posts, but, i was listening to the video while writing an email, and i noticed the drum beat leading into DMSR is completely different to the song, and actually when the horns kick into the riff the drum beat changes. SO, i listened to it again and thought, actually, that drum beat is really individual and prince-like to just be a jam intro, so i wondered if it was actually the intro to a song? it sounded very batman era to me, but i wondered if it could even be 3121 or something? i know its ridiculously tenuous but just do me a favour and listen to it again, i mean, it could just be they got into a little practised rhythm but i think it sounds really princey and i wouldn't be surprised if prince did something like that, remember posting samples of musicology up to remix before we even heard of it?

STUNNING! That is one of the best performances I've ever seen. What a band, who are they all? I only recognise Blackwell and Sheila. Thanks for posting that. I think I said "Wow" about 15 times during it! “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

No Blackwell there. Somebody wrote somewhere who it was, can't remember who though.

The wind instruments are blowing me away and the bass, the bass...Listen to THAT chorus backingvocals! Hah! The percussion is so fine, the drums're créme. Prince said -sex- it's not finnished!
