Why is it that whenever the "is Prince gay or straight?" convo rolls around, 99% of you don't even consider that he might not be either, he might (key word being "might") be bisexual? It's always "Prince is obviously into men" or "Prince is obviously into women". There is middleground, you know -and there's more of us than most of you seem to realize, if the possibility of Prince being bi hadn't even entered your minds. neutral

I've always thought Prince was bisexual. Like others have said, he's always with women and appears to have a desire for them. He also is very feminine himself and who knows (except Prince) what goes on in private. I think it's very likely that there could have been men in Prince's past. Of course, he's not going to flaunt that, but he does flaunt his feminine side and seems to be very proud of it (unlike "trade" or "down low" men who try to be overly masculine). Having people wondering also adds to the mysterious image he loves to portray.

I'm not saying that he is bisexual. As I've always said, I don't know what Prince is and admire him for not holding press conferences and being on TV all the time trying to set the record straight. He leads us to believe what we want to believe and doesn't seem to care or be offended by it.

As far as the possibility that he could be bisexual, that's very possible. A closeted man is going to keep their men hidden deep in the closet. As far as why haven't any of these men talked.....the same goes for why haven't any of his former bandmates hardly ever talked?

It's very possible that he could be bisexual and it shouldn't taken as an insult if he was. Most gays are not offended if someone thinks they are straight.

I've always thought Prince was straight. He's always with women. He liked to play mind-games with the public. The "is he, isn't he?" issue. He liked to use the make up, look and image to mess with people.

Actually, if Prince is straight, then I admire him even more. A straight man that is confident enough with his sexuality to dress and look how he wants to and not worry what people think about him, is very rare. Most straight men are quick to set the record straight about their sexuality. The fact that Prince teases and makes you wonder (is if it isn't a bad thing if he were gay), is fine in my book. It's a shame that all men don't have that strength. A lot of hatred would stop if they did.

NO!!! This is not a "is Prince gay thread". I was just wondering what Prince's take on Homosexuality is. In the 80's he wanted everyone of all races, and sexual orientations to party together. Does anyone know what he has said recently about this subject. I'm sure things have changed because of his religion. I've heard him say somethings in concert that have made me cringe a little and I know that I can't believe everything I read, has anybody heard or read anything recenlty.

I seriously doubt that Prince is anti-gay.That's totally absurd.Last year,he performed a song with Wendy,an outspoken lesbian. And nobody has ever heard him say that he is against homosexuality.

In addtion, I hope all of you realize that all Chritian denominations are against Homosexuality. Unfortunatly, you should love people and dislike their behavior and a lot of denominations just don't work they way they should.

ACTUALLY Christian religions are against Heterosexuals engaging in Homosexual acts. If you're not gay, don't do gay shit. Basically. And "loving people but disliking their actions" sounds like judging to me, which, last time I checked, the bible says not to do. You got your shit screwed up buddy.

-----
I don't need you to tell me what Christian religions profess. Yes, Christian are against Homosexuality, Acts or Behavior. What ever way you want to phrase it.

Since they why I put it is upsetting you.

"And "loving people but disliking their actions" sounds like judging "

No you could have a sibling that is on crack and they could rob you blind. You could still love them because that is your brother or sister. Not caring for their behavior would not be judging.

Same thing with homosexuals. I can't tell anyone how to live their life or make decisions for them but, to expect me not to have an opinion is riduculous.

Iknow some of this is a joke, but as for the serious part. What exactly are you basing this on other than you just think he must have had homosexual experiences? I'm not saying he did or didn't and It wouldn't offend me if he did, but I just don't see any indication. Prince has always said his music (not his image) speaks for him and I can't hear anything gay (even experimentally) in there.

You know, the funny thing is that I consider myself to be fairly open-minded about homosexuality, yet posts like these are the reasons that so many heteros have issues with homosexuality.
If you're too open to it, then you're a closet case.
If you're not open enough to it, then you're a bigoted gay basher.
If you say "live and let live" then you get "schooled" about it and repremanded for not caring enough.
Some of you ask why can't heteros accept your lifestlyle; the truth is many can and do until we are beaten over the heads with it.
I have no problems with men loving men and women loving women. I also make no apologies for not wanting to have it forced down my throat. (no pun intended) I don't care who Prince screws. I don't care if he's "experimented". I don't care about ANYONE'S sex life, love life, etc. that doesn't involve me. If any of you think I'm not "accepting" it by saying that, then oh well; I don't care and won't ever care about who anyone else is screwing., loving, etc. None of you can make me. Chalk it up to one hetero who doesn't give a damn and call it a day. I will stay out of yours and you WILL stay out of mine. The occcasional idle gossip is fun but beyond that, to me it is non importante'. There's still a whole host of heteros who believe it is a sin against God and believe that you're all going to hell and should be ushered there as quickly as possible. Hets like that ought to make you glad that there's hets like me. Even if I believe its a sin, I don't care enough to lift a finger against it...or for it, for that matter.

Third time's the charm, they say....

I guess I just find it strange that fans of someone who is as purposely ambiguous as Prince has been hadn't even considered the possibility of him falling somewhere in the middle of the Kinsey scale, instead of strictly at either polar opposite end.

But consider this: When someone like Alicia Keys, for example, acts boyish, there is a good chunk of the Purple fanbase who insist that this is proof that she's gay or bi. Yet no matter how feminine Prince is, (and he can be hypergirly) a good chunk of the same fans who insist other celebs HAVE to be gay or bi becase they don't conform compltely to their gender roles will still insist on his straightness. Hell, Prince could do an entire tour in full drag with a cock in each hand, and I'm willing to bet these fans would still say he's 100% straight.

Okay, maybe I was exaggerating, biggrin but you get my drift.

Whether Prince prefers the company of men, women, or both, only he knows for sure. But the point is, this kind of double standard is just pure hypocritical bullshit.

Dont judge a book by it's cover.
Prince Rolling Stone magazine interview by Bill Adler, February 19, 1981:
"Appearances to the contrary, though, he says he's not gay, and he has a standard rebuff for over enthusiastic male fans:
"I'm not about that; we can be friends, but that's as far as it goes."
A Penthouse "Pet of the mouth" centerfold laid out on a near by table silently underscores his point."

Not judging anything. I've had this discussion with you before, and you refused to listen to what I had to say.

I'm not saying he's anything, because I don't know what he prefers, and I don't much care either. All I'm trying to say is that certain fans need to cut the shit. How is it not hypocritical to say that because some chick is boyish she HAS to be gay, but even though Prince is feminine, he can't be anything but straight? It's a double standard.

A CD interview released in the 90s by Baktabak, made in England from a June 4 1981 interview in Paris.
Prince said: "Me and my group and other people that we hang around, we get alot of slack for the way we dress, and the first impression that they get is that were gay. That's what they usually do when they don't understand something, people were I come from, they usual just right it off as being gay. Uptown was saying that our clothes, and the way we act, and the things we say are not that."
Interviewer says: "Society doesn't tell us how to dress, right?"
Prince: "Don't judge a book, it's the same old thing."
