What was that part in Under The Cherry Moon all about? Remember the part in UTCM when a lady says, "Christopher, you know I miss you!" and Christopher runs away afraid and the lady laughs. That part scared the hell of me last night. What is that all about? Check me out and add me on:

I agree, even though some people view it as Prince not wanting or desiring black women. That woman? I think so. All black women? Not a chance. Prince knows that fine is fine no matter how light or dark a woman is!

It was about vaginas.
Basically Prince is saying "If you're vagina is being kept alive by an old and fat woman, please keep it away from me." At that time, Prince was very particular about the type of vaginas that he pursued.

I remember a lot of black women were offended by the part...they understood that the scene was a bad memory of all the past clients he had, but they're reasoning was "why it had to be a black woman, tho?" The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

It's strange to me that Prince is linked with attractive women he associates with but he was never linked with Rosie Gaines, Chaka Khan or Bonnie Boyer.
Appolonia was married at the time of Purple Rain and she admitted that they never were an item. Same thing with Kristen Scott Thomas. Just saying..... Haters travel in packs and they are offended or threatened by klhk, haters express intense hostility toward the subject of hate. Haters are annoyed and roll thier eyes when klhk is paid a compliment. ask yourself, are u a hater?

And even after the scene near the beginning of the movie where he walks up to a black lady looking at flowers and says "Undecided?" and then proceeds to pay for her flowers, bows, and kisses her hand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Prince knows that fine is fine no matter how light or dark a woman is! That's a rather black and white view of the matter. Within the context of the story it is obviously a previous 'client' of Christopher's. Outside of the story though it was noted that Prince as director chose to cast this unpleasant character as a black lady, one of the very few black females in a film that saw him swooning over various white women. I think it was a fair point to make.

There are several unexplained loose ends in "Under The Cherry Moon" which only begin to make sense when you read early drafts of the film.
The woman was supposed to be Christopher's wife whom he married against his will in order to save his family from financial ruin, hence the wedding ring in his finger which Christopher can be seen wearing in the movie. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

The only thing that ever puzzled me about that flick was... are bats a problem in French restaurants? And were those very large fruit bats hanging from the ceiling all day until Tricky was the first to notice them? What was THAT scene all about?
